So I have a love-hate thing going on with you. I love you as an author and I love most of your stories but then I hate you for tearing at my soul and make me feel things that I was always taught a man doesn't do. Since my love passed after 44yrs. married I have searched for answers and my insides have been stripped bare. When I read yours and a few other top authors stories of love, family, the right things to do etc. I feel like I am on another plane of feelings. Sometimes ouch!, sometimes feel- good. But that's what a good writer does brings out the feelings whether angst or love.

Yes, the story is absurd and over-the-top; that was the idea. I now realize I should've included an explicit warning, since not everyone is familiar with the author I was inspired by (hi btw ;)). In the future, I'll make sure to always put a note to the reader.
Even so, I like to think that it could be possible. With Dr Bowman to take care of them and serve them meal-replacement shakes (think Soylent), the family probably wouldn't starve or dehydrate. Physical wear-and-tear would be a bigger problem, I think, but the doctor says their condition goes beyond just the insane sex drive. Perhaps there are some improbable genetics involved, that enable Jacob to stay hard without ill effects, and the women to never get tender and raw? Far-fetched to be sure, but maybe not outright impossible.
Whether or not it would be a fulfilling life, I'll leave that for you to decide...
